I Hand-Cut Every Piece of The Empty Tomb Set and Why It Matters

I Hand-Cut Every Piece of The Empty Tomb Set and Why It Matters

Some pieces are made. This one was meant.

The Empty Tomb Set started as an idea I saw elsewhere, and it turned into a personal desire to have something in my home that told the real story of Easter. Of course with little ones in this season of life, the baskets, colored eggs and treats are fun, but the real reason of what the Easter season is all about is the death and Resurrection of Jesus.

I’ve always been someone that sees an idea and wants to give it a go on my own, and making this set with different wood species and my own touch quickly turned into a year-round décor piece for our home in different rooms. This piece is small, subtle and can be placed in tiny nooks and spots for that constant reminder of the reality of the Resurrection, for adults and kiddos. My own rendition of this piece turned into requests from others and slowly entered into my regularly offered products.

Made by Hand, One Piece at a Time

Every Empty Tomb Set is hand-cut from solid hardwood right here in my home workshop. I cut each piece individually on my scroll saw; the tomb, the stone, the mountains, and the cross, letting the natural character of the wood guide the final look. No two sets are exactly alike, and that's intentional.

You might notice a subtle saw mark or a slight variation in grain. I leave those in. Each stone is textured one at a time by hand. They're not imperfections, they're proof that a real person made this with their hands. That feels right for a piece meant to represent something meant to take our own imperfections, our scars, and to find healing and purpose in something far beyond ourselves.

Small Enough to Go Anywhere

At roughly 6.5" tall × 6" wide × 4" deep (give or take with natural variation), this set fits on a bookshelf, a mantle, a desk, or tucked into an Easter basket as a gift that actually means something. You can arrange the pieces separately for a variation of different looks, or tack them together for a sturdier display in busier spaces.

More Than a Seasonal Decoration

A lot of people display it just at Easter. But many customers (including my own family) keep it out year-round on a windowsill, a nightstand, or a child's bookshelf. This piece can act as a quiet, daily reminder of hope and life found in the resurrection of our Lord Jesus. It's built from solid hardwood to last for many seasons, not just one.

A Gift Worth Giving

This can be such a meaningful gift, not only for Easter, but for Christmas, mothers day, a baptism or a birthday, regardless of age, this piece can fit the occasion. It's $40, handmade with care and intention, and ships ready to display.
